Victory Of Good Over Evil

It has been scientifically proven that when a child is in his mother’s womb, the deeds and actions done by his mother, be it good or bad, cast a pivotal influence on her unborn child. One of the biggest examples of this is that of Prahlaada, the son of Hiranyakashipa and Leelavati.
When Prahlaada was in his mother’s womb, his father Hiranyakashipa performed a servere ‘Tapas to impress Brahmadeva. Hence Leelavati got an opportunity to stay in the pious ashram of Naarada maharishi where even  animals with natural enmity for each other like snakes-vultures, lions-elephants and others, lived with peace and without displaying anger for each other. Living in such an environment of love and peace ,Leelavati always thought of good, genral and used to listen to lovely stories from the Puranas and Upanishads.
One day Naarada maharishi was narrating Shri HariLeelas and discussing the greatness of Hari Bhakti. In between, Leelavati slept off but Prahlaada, who was in her womb, was listening very carefully and intently to everything being spoken by the muni. Hence, even before his birth, Prahlaada  managed to get knowledge about Hari Bhakti from Naarada muni.
After some days, Prahlaada took birth on a pious day and all the God and Goddesses showered fresh flowers on him.
As for Hiranyakashipa, impressed by his devotion and Tapas, Brahmadeva appeared before him to grant him a boon as per his wish. Hiranyakashipa, who had evil in his mind, asked Brahmadeva never to die and have an eternal life forever. Brahmadeva refused saying that such a boon was against the law of nature and hence he should ask for something else. Then Hiranyakashipa twisted his wish a little and requested Bhrahma to grant him the Blessing not to be killed either on land, in  water, in fire, in air, in the sky, by animal, humans, Gods and demons, yaksha, kinnera, siddha, or vidyadharaadipraanis, by any weapons, neither during the day nor at night. He added that he should always face victory in wars, should be blessed with more powers than indra and other Devtas and should be made the king of Tribhuvanamas
Brahmadeva replied to Hiranyakashipa that no one hadever asked for such a boon ever before, but since he had won over him with his dedication and devotion,he would grant him with whatever he wishes but the latter should be careful not to misuse his powers and blessings which are being showered on him.
On having received such a boon from Brahmadeva, Hiranyakashipa got proud of his achievements and started torturing Brahmins, sadhu-purush, sajjanas, pativratas and people of all the three worlds. He started saying that he alone was God; everyone should pray to him and do his pooja. Day by day his evil deeds and sins were increasing until he started torturing his own son Prahlaada for he was a true Hari Bhakta and refused to take his father’s name in place of God.

Hiranyakashipa tried different ways to kill Prahlaada. He got him thrown from a sleep cliff, tried to get him stamped by an elephant, got him burnt in fire but nothing could put an end to Prahlaada’s life as he always used to think only about Shri Hari and nothing else. Hence the Lord saved him from every torture done by his father.
One day, fed up with Prahlaada’s Bhakti, Hiranyakashipa told his son that he could not find Shri Hari anywhere. He had even gone to heaven in search of him, but he was nowhere to be seen. To this Prahlaada replied that Shri Hari is omnipresent. He is everywhere and in everything. One just needs true dedication, love and devotion to find him. Frustrated and agitated by his son’s reply, Hiranyakashipa challenged Prahlaada to show him his presence in a pillar located in their palace where they were having the conversation. The very next moment Mahaavisnu appeared from the pillar in the form of Narasingha Bhagwan, placed Hiranyakashipa on his lap and tore him apart into pieces with his nails.
Thus, in spite of having acquired such a unique boon from Brahmadeva, Hiranyakashipa , due to his evil deeds, pride, jealousy and animosity , lost everything, even his own life, in the end.

He forgot the fact that God, Almightly is any day more powerful than anything or anyone else in this entire universe.
